Essential Camping Gear for your next trip

Camping has a different definition to everybody, for some it means sleeping with only a mattress pad, a blanket and being able to look at the stars but for others it means a RV and sleeping on a mattress nicer than the one you have at home. Camping is a great way to explore nature and spend quality time with people you enjoy being around.

An important part of camping is having the right supplies whether that means a tent or a portable fridge. A camping set up has to do a lot with needs and preference, for example a Front Runner roof top tent is a great idea for a smaller family around 2-2 ½ people but if you have a larger sized family the 23Zero WalkAbout Roof top tent is perfect for you. Aside from tents, another great piece of equipment to have for any kind of occasion especially the beach is awnings. Awnings are super easy and fast set up to keep you comfortable under the shade. A great awning that we recommend is the Front Runner Easy-Out Awning 2M.

For seating options we love our Front Runner Expander Camping Chairs. It is compact and allows you to fold it up for easy storage and transport.

Everybody loves food especially when you’ve been out adventuring all day, having a good camp kitchen set up is an important part of camping. No matter your style of camping there is a kitchen set up for you, one of the most important things is having a way to keep things cold. There are millions of ways to keep things cold ranging from coolers to small lunch boxes, the way we (a family of 4 and dog) store our frozen food as well as regular fridge temperature food is in our dual zone Dometic CFX3 75DZ. There are important things like fridges and grills that you think about but sometimes you miss the small items like utensils, Front Runner makes a great set of easy and transportable silverware.

Water storage is critical, and we hate going to the store any buying bottles of water for our trips so we invested in the Lifesaver Jerry Can and it has been, well, a lifesaver! A robust and portable water purifier capable of filtering 20,000 litres/5,282 US gallons of clean drinking water, removing viruses, bacteria, cysts and parasites instantly. Filter water for drinking, for washing with the addition of the LifeSaver shower attachment and for cooking. No need for chlorine or chlorine dioxide.

Camping is such a universal activity no matter how you choose to go about it, but it is important to always be prepared. We love camping and are glad that there’s so many different options of products to help in every situation.
